Engineering and Product Development

4C has extensive experience in supporting Product Development with small, medium and large companies, focusing on properly documented and structured projects to ensure the correct launch of the new product.

Your innovation must go beyond immediate benefits and become a competitive instrument in the market with economic returns. Transforming an innovation into a product requires specialized knowledge to ensure that all technical aspects and requirements are properly planned and recorded.

The generation of new products positions the company at a new level of growth with commercial and strategic assets. These assets need protection to ensure a competitive return and sustainability in the market.

Through specialized consultancy, you can guarantee the protection of your investment and technology as a way of creating a legal barrier to potential competitors, raising your brand image among customers and creating an exclusive market to be explored.

Once the idea has been validated, the first stage of product development is the Informational Project, a study of technologies and subsystems. In this phase of the project, technologies are studied to verify which ones best fit the product and the parameters required. Next, a more in-depth study of consumer needs is carried out with in-person monitoring to verify day-to-day interfaces.

In the Conceptual Design, Brainstorming is carried out to generate alternatives and the respective elaboration of sketches and selection of the best concept through the QFD methodology – Quality and Function Deployment. Subsequently, 3D modeling of the concept and preliminary simulations are carried out to understand the effectiveness of the selected concept. In the Conceptual Design, mock-ups of the best concept must also be built and tested. This stage is intended to physically test the simulated concept, aiming to learn the volumetry, interface between the subsystems and construction restrictions of the project. The conceptual design always ends with the financial feasibility analysis to generate information for the decision-making process of continuing the project (go/no-go).

In the Detailed Design phase, the FMEA is developed, a tool used to assess the technical risks of the product, aiming to mitigate them during the detailed design phase. In this phase, the final detailed design is also prepared in 3D CAD software, adopting the best practices of the manufacturing processes associated with the product components. Design and simulation of the assembly considering the respective order, geometric restrictions, dimensional tolerances and final visual quality of the product. When necessary, we also develop the electronic circuits. Design of the electronic control, interface and power boards for the product. Including computer simulation of the boards.

After all the analyses and due documentation, we begin the construction of the functional prototype with final finishing and functionalities for field testing on potential customers and opinion makers. Soon, in partnership with a design company, the development of packaging and instruction manual begins.

The Detailed Project also includes a final analysis of the project considering the best manufacturing, assembly and packaging practices and the review of economic and financial viability.

Good projects result in patent applications. And at this stage, the challenge is to precisely define the best way to prevent copying and theft of your property. With a specialized team, we help you define the best industrial property agent for this patent filing or we work on technology transfer or acquisition projects.

Furthermore, if your company already has registered patents, we will perform an effectiveness analysis of the portfolio. This will allow the resources invested to be adjusted to increase the return on investment in Research and Development. Patent management increases your competitive power and allows you to gain a commercial, strategic and profitable advantage.
